Born and raised in Davao City, Philippines, Napoleon began his studies by traveling to the Philippines’ capital city, Manila. There he studied and received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He graduated in 1989 and passed the board exam to become a Licensed Assistant Electrical Engineer. In 1994, he was given the opportunity to come to America. Once he arrived, he took on various roles such as caregiving, cable technician, and laboratory technician before starting his career in the survey industry.
Nap started as a chainman while studying AutoCAD at an Adult School offered by a local High School in the evenings, he quickly progressed to a field surveyor, building up 18 years of experience. For the past 5 years, Nap has been with GIS Surveyors as a Party Chief and Senior Survey Analyst. He is responsible for completing field activities for boundary surveys, easement retracement, utility surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, layout of bore pits and alignment, structure monitoring, as-built surveys for the Pipeline Safety Enhancement Program lines and valve sites. In the office, he processes field data and produces surveys for boundary, topographic, GPS control, utility location, client reports and much more.
Nap enjoys working with GIS Surveyors because the company not only encourages him to be successful, but it also emphasizes the importance of family. When not at work, he enjoys spending his time with family. He loves taking his wife and kids to concerts, ball games, theme parks, and national parks. His other hobbies include hiking, watching movies, teaching bible study and road trips.
